It’s easy to see why our readers have flocked to vote for Muse’s wine list – it’s just so darn appealing and chock full of wonderfully drinkable wines. It’s a list that leans towards interesting, boutique producers with a keen focus on local wines from the nearby Canberra District with Mount Majura, Helm, Lark Hill and Gundog Estate found within the pages.
While not a lengthy list, it’s all hits and no misses, with a strong sense that family-owned and operated Australian wine businesses have been a dedicated focus. All bases are covered in the By-the-Glass selection, with flighty aromatic whites making easy bedfellows with textural offerings, and it’s obvious that Muse likes guests to have an experience – malvasia is poured alongside piquepoul, nebbiolo and sangiovese rosé. Regulars would likely enjoy putting their drinks journey in the hands of the wine team, with ‘Mystery White’ and ‘Mystery Red’ glasses an option from the cellar.
All up, this is a stellar list that traverses a breadth of styles and the width of high quality and interesting wineries – a wine list that has something for everyone and asking you to return to try more.
