Sam Plunkett talks about wine with a child-like delight that belies his 30 years as a winemaker. After nine years, the little winery that could has grown into an impressive feature of the region, with an expansive urban winery situated in the centre of Seymour. The warehouse space, originally part of the textiles industry, has been thoughtfully converted into a winery, cellar door and café. Décor is mid-century chic and welcoming, as are the staff. Fruit is sourced predominantly from family’s vineyards in the Strathbogie Ranges and showcased across a range of well-known and alternative varieties. This is very much a working winery and behind-the-scenes tours are available, with staff keen to share their passion. Afterwards, relax over generous platters and sample excellent wines.
