Star Cellar Door

(07) 3206 2999

Sirromet, around 40 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD, has proved one of Australia’s most successful cellar doors, with around 3,000 visitors a week at its peak. Along with an extensive range of wines, there are all manner of facilities and several restaurants. There is even onsite glamping accommodation (18 pavilions), with the added bonus of views over nearby Moreton Bay. Their original winemaker, Adam Chapman, has left to do his own thing and into the breach has stepped one of Queensland’s most experienced and respected winemakers, Mike Hayes. The Cellar Door is open all week for tastings. Although situated near Brisbane, Sirromet’s vineyards are focused on the Granite Belt, where there is serious attention given to emerging and alternative varieties. Vegan wines are also available. There are daily winery tours, which include a tutored tasting of six wines. The cafe is open seven days a week to 4.30pm; the Tuscan Terrace extends that to include dinners, again every day of the week; and Restaurant Lurleen is open for private functions, weddings and special events.
