Chief winemaker, Kim Horton, continues to drive the quality of the Willow Bridge range. This is underlined by trophies at the 2017 Geographe Show for Most Successful Small Producer, Best Regional Sparkling, White Blend and Shiraz. The Dewar family established this Ferguson Valley winery more than 20 years ago and they have 60 hectares of vines established at between 230 and 280 metres on the Darling Scarp.
Although the cellar door space itself is not ideal, the stemware there has been significantly upgraded. The portfolio of wines showcases the power and intensity of the Black Dog Shiraz. The range of estate wines punches above its weight, while the small batch wines (Maris Sol) add interest to what’s on offer. The Dragonfly quaffers represent quality at an affordable price: the sauvignon blanc semillon is regularly among the best of the blend produced in Australia. PETER FORRESTAL
