This is an amazing operation, a vineyard, winery, cellar door, restaurant, brewery and fromagerie – Cupitt’s has the lot, all in one neat and very stylish package. Rosie Cupitt is the driving force but her husband and their children are very much part of the success.
Originally from Bowral, Rosie Cupitt is a trained horticulturalist who re-skilled with a CSU oenology course before establishing this minuscule vineyard near Milton. Located in an old sandstone creamery dating back to 1851, the Cupitt cellar door is refreshingly unpretentious.
The adjacent Cupitt’s Kitchen has been built in sympathy with the winery in the cool underground cellar below. Enjoy a ploughman’s platter of olives, dips and breads at the cellar door or a fresh, produce driven meal at the restaurant. Live music on Sundays and weekend pizzas add to the child friendly nature of this exceptional enterprise. PETER BOURNE
