In a word: PHWOAR.  Jonah's boasts a powerfully constructed, extensive and detailed wine list that resets the accepted size parameters of a wine list – this is a tome.  The champagne selection is nothing short of jaw-dropping, and it is very exciting to see verticals of many of the wines listed – it shows a passion and knowledge about the houses featured and allows us (price permitting) to explore a broad range of styles and varietals across many different vintages. This is a very impressive, world class list, and worthy of every praise.

Black by Ezard at The Star Casino is now re-booted at Black Bar & Grill. The food, including the  famous porterhouse and wagyu steaks, shows a
similar focus to before, as does the international wine list which has now
increased to1000 wines. We are particularly excited to see the new wine feature employing the Coravin wine preservation system to show some cracker super premium wines by the glass such as Suduiraut and Coutet. The adventurous may like to explore the "Naturale and Low Intervention Wines," or dive into the Grower Champagnes. There's a lot of enjoy here…for a price.

Okay, we admit we did drool a little over this list. So many excellent Italian wines, including some on-trend Sicilians like nero d'avola and nerello mascalese can be found here, as well as orange and "natural" wines where Italian makers are taking the lead. Take your time with this list, with 31 pages you don't want to miss a thing and you'll want to pause over the nebbiolo and sangiovese. The Aussie contingent has grown in recent years so Italy doesn't have it all its own way. All round excellent list full of choice.

CHAIRMAN'S COMMENTS: Nowhere gets more deserved attention than The Star with Black Bar & Grill, Balla, Century and Sokyo all featuring classy lists within the casino complex. The arresting innovation of the list at Doot Doot Doot in the Jackalope Hotel will reward many visitors to the Mornington Peninsula.
