For 25 years, Stokehouse was a fixture on our dining scene as much as a landmark on the St Kilda foreshore. On January 17, 2014 fire ripped through the century-old timber building. It’s taken three years but an ultra-modern restaurant now stands proudly in its place. 

The personable and well-credentialed sommelier, Gavin Cremming steers this exemplary list, one that complements the contemporary fare and vibe. 

It’s not too big, hovering at around 550 bottles, yet it is finely-tuned, thrilling and classy, starting with 34 seriously good by-the-glass options think Bollinger La Grande Année, Coriole Fiano or Yeringberg Shiraz. Gems are dotted throughout – Foradori Fontanasanta Manzoni Bianco and Sinapius Pinot Noir – with the right amount of German, Austrian and Spanish wines, plus mini-verticals, latterly from Ghislaine Barthod or Luciano Sandrone, to round out this fabulous list.
