The list ranges from very affordable, to super premium, making sure to pause and nod to the great varieties of riesling and pinot noir. The Riesling Top Ten Fact checklist had us chuckling.

There are great and concise collections of Grower Champagnes, pét-nats, orange wines, natural wines, rosés, Georgian wines, a pinot noir focus, and a large cross-section of reds, characterised largely by wines which possess great minerality, freshness, acidity, tannin and vivacity. It’s a who’s who of up-and-coming, passionate wineries that boast cult-like followings – for good reason.

The opportunity to enjoy a wine like Coche Dury or a Rousseau Grand Cru from 2005 by the glass will excite the most jaded winelover – and who knows what will be available next week. A list that screams quality from every corner – Donnhoff, Bindi, Chatto, JJ Prom and so much more. And that is before we even get to their Reserve list. This is a tight list but an exceptional one, carefully constructed. It represents excellent value.

There is a strong chance you won't know too many wines on this quintessential global wine list. To the curious wine drinker that is an exciting prospect. The chance to try a Hungarian furmint, a cabernet franc from the Loire, or a blaufrankisch from Austria – all at fair prices – is an adventure waiting to happen, made all the better for the tapas foods that accompany them. The odd Australian offers some familiarity. We recommend the flight of three sherries with canapes.
